About Yobe State

Yobe State is located in northeastern Nigeria, with Damaturu serving as its capital. Bordered by Niger Republic to the north, and neighboring Borno, Gombe, Bauchi, and Jigawa states, Yobe sits within Nigeria's Sahel region.

The state is known for its agricultural economy, producing millet, sorghum, groundnuts, and cowpeas across its fertile river valleys. With a population of over 2.9 million people primarily of Kanuri, Bade, and Hausa extraction, Yobe represents a rich tapestry of cultures united by tradition and resilience.

Yobe State Television serves as the state's official broadcaster, bringing news, culture, and programming to residents and the diaspora alike. From the ancient walls of Ngazargamu to the modern streets of Damaturu, YTV captures the spirit of the Desert Land of Hope.
